Cory

Cory still remembers the day his dad removed his training wheels against his will. Sadness quickly turned to exhilaration as he experienced his first true ride on two wheels. The speed, the feel of leaning into a corner, and the rhythm of the pedals are something he has not forgotten in over 25 years. From completing RAGBRAI (once in a single day), to competing in local races and triathlons, to summiting Pikes Peak, to leisurely family rides on the local trails, Cory’s diverse cycling experience helps him to connect with and support every rider who walks through the doors of Bike Central. As Owner and Head Mechanic, he is passionate about providing cyclists with exceptional service and quality products.

As a Service Technician, Seth assists with repairs throughout the summer months. Always smiling and eager to help, Seth is the kind of person you hope your kids grow up to be like. Amongst other things, he has learned that working at a bike shop makes you an expert at changing flat tires. And breaking down cardboard boxes.

Cory’s right-hand man, Shawn is instrumental in almost every area of the bike shop. Whether assisting a customer, assembling a new bike, or keeping the shop tidy, he does everything with genuine care and precision. Always looking for ways to improve, he challenges us to be better every day.

As Shop Apprentice, Eli’s skills on a bike and with a wrench are soon to surpass the rest of the team. He is always happy to help with whatever needs to be done, and he enjoys seeing all the new bikes that come through the shop. As a Certified Kid, he can tell you that a quality kid’s bike makes a BIG difference and is a worthwhile investment. Seriously, you should listen to him.

Explore Northwest Iowa's Finest Cycling Paths

Northwest Iowa and the Le Mars area are home to some great riding opportunities. Gear up at Bike Central, go for a ride, and finish it off with a cold treat in the Ice Cream Capitol of the World.

Le Mars Recreation Trail

Le Mars Recreation Trail

The Le Mars Recreation Trail is a hidden gem! The fully paved trail circles the community golf course before following the scenic Floyd River. Deer and other wildlife are frequent sightings.

PlyWood Trail

PlyWood Trail

The PlyWood Trail connects Plymouth and Woodbury counties as it travels from Le Mars, through Merrill and Hinton, before finishing in Sioux City. This fully paved trail runs parallel to Hwy 75. As of 2026, the section between Merrill and Hinton is yet to be constructed. This specific route will take you on County Hwy K42 between those two towns. Visit plywoodtrail.org to learn more.
